Want to buy an FEC?

In case you are not familiar with the term FEC, it stands for Family Entertainment Center. It’s the type of place that generally offers many fun activities from mini-golf to laser tag to rides and of course arcades.

If you live in the Rocky Mountain West (moreso Colorado) then this auction may interest you as the Joyrides Family Fun Center is auctioning off everything, including some coin-op games like The Fast and Furious to House of the Dead 2 to classics like Centipede , Star Wars and Donkey Kong Jr. Just make sure your bank account can handle it first!

That looks so cool, shame that it’s an auction, you know some of the rarer stuff will go for a lot especially if it’s mint. But I suppose it all depends on how many people and who turns up. Is the place closing down then?

Good question. It looks like they are just selling it all, perhaps the owners are retiring or it’s just gotten to expensive to maintain. I’ll have to see if I could find out anymore.

Am I the only one somewhat saddened by this? Gone is another fun spot for kids to be kids, likely to be replaced by some generic commercial development. 🙁

I agree Bill. It’s not good to see operators shutting down. I wish we knew the reason why they are closing their doors.
