Video: The Act gameplay
So I finally managed to get some sound on The Act by hooking up a speaker that I pulled from one of my JAMMA cabinets. I am considering looking for a cabinet to put the game into this weekend but I don’t really have any more space for a cabinet at this point. I found a cabinet at a thrift store today (Time Soldiers) but they were asking $300 for it which was too much. Anyways, here is a video of The Act – I apologize for the horrible sound, all I had was the built-in mic on my digital camera and as you’ll be able to tell, it’s cheap. UPDATE: If you enjoyed this part, also check out another more interesting part of the game where you actually steer Edgar through a chase scene, physically controlling the movement of a cartoon character.

That looks fantastic, like nothing else around. Even though Id prefer this to actually come to arcades (which is unlikely, except to yours) it would be a shame if the masses dont get to play this. So fingers crossed it prehaps could make it over to consoles maybe as a XBLA or PSN game.

My friends played this and finished it in an hour one night last year at a bowling alley in Cambridge. Waxy’s link that referred me to this page mentioned the game was cancelled. That’s a shame. It was brief but fun.

Yeah, apparently something bad happened with the testing and Cecropia, the games developer pulled the plug on the project. Only 40 kits are out there – out of those even fewer have been resold on eBay. I plan on setting this up at my arcade however so more people can get a chance to play it.

I can’t seem to figure out how to get past the part where the boss is choking on his cigar… pointers?

I believe that this is a part where you need to move the knob back and forth so that Edgar kind of performs the Heimlich maneuver. It is a bit tough but beatable.
BTW- there is a little trick to use if you have the kit. Just plug a keyboard into the PS/2 port on the back and you can skip scenes by pressing the right arrow. Yeah it’s cheating but if you just want to see what it has afterwards, it’s an easy way to go about it. It also makes it so you don’t have to play through the full game if you’re stuck on one particular part.
