Arcade update 5/5 (w/video)

Shaggy May 6, 2008 7

Today was full of hard work for getting the arcade started. In addition to painting ceiling tiles and earning some blisters along with it, I also had to register my business through another state system (I had registered it as an LLC back in August but this was another step to get a sales tax ID) and then fill out the paper work to start the process to get a business license (which required the sales tax ID from the State and a FEIN from the Federal Government which I got some months ago), contact an electrician and he came later in the day and we discussed options to get everything ready and get some more supplies. Getting the ball rolling for the business license is a big step as I cannot legally operate my business until that is received. It also will allow me to go forward on securing the funding for my machines.

Here is a video of the inside of the future arcade, before I managed to get anything done (back on Saturday). We painted quite a bit today, thanks to the help of my wife, my brother, and my sister who came to help at different times in the day.

Congrats on moving forward with this!!! It’s something I’ve always wanted to do too and bonus is it’s LOCAL I’ve thought we needed a real arcade again for a while and not the Nicklecade store front warehouses of conversion hell. I’m guessing you are involded in UVGG (utah video game geeks) collection group if not, you need to get signed up maybe you could talk to a couple of other locals. I’d like to help out in any way I can I did a lot6 of repairs cap kits etc on my games. I have been to GroundKontrol in Portland and I think an arcade can work. Seriously email me and we can touch base. I want to help! BTW you can see my old arcade in my basement at http://grimbasement.com/ripgrim.htm

    Grim,

Thanks for stopping by today, it was nice chatting with you.

I must be overlooking where your e-mail is at, I am just finding your website but no contact link. That was an awesome basement arcade you had.
