At £15,000 I can see why the game costs £2 per credit, but it’s an unfortunate price point as it may put a lot of people off playing. Incidentally, I’ve never had trouble getting on the After Burner Climax machine there, which is also set at £2. Ironically, Funland is one of the few places where I’d have guessed people would be fine with that sort of price, given that it’s central London and you can’t get a pint of beer for less than £3.

As for Race TV, I was actually banking on it being in Funland, as Namco Station doesn’t have it either (oh, how I long for an online machine location database). A trip to the coast may be in order…

I was there on the 19th as well. Sorry I didn’t get to meet with you editor. It was set to £2 when I was there.

Can’t say that I was very impressed with it. Feels like an console game to me. It lacked that over the top element I’d expect.

I was dissapointed to not see Sega Race TV. Maybe it was there but I missed it. I saw 5 separate Outrun 2 SP cabinets! What in gods name are they thinking. So many cabinets in that building but very little variety. More shmups and puzzlers please!

Thanks for the info on pricing RJAY63. The price per play at £1 is okay but £2 is too high. I remember when Outrun 2 SDX showed up last summer at Funland and that too was set to £2 a play then curiously dropped to £1 a credit for a few weeks before finally settling back to £2. Seems as if almost the same strategy is being applied to Sega Rally 3. I wonder if this will now set in motion a trend for all these new age HD large screen simulator games to be priced at £2 a play?

The game is advertised as £2 per play but the machine was actually set to £1 per play. It may have been fixed but bear it mind when you’re putting money in.

You will enjoy playing Sega Rally 3 – I did! I’m miffed by the lack of an Internet Ranking though!

Excellent. I’m going on holidays to London on Wednesday. It’s been 3 or 4 years since I’ve been. Casino is worth checking out as well now I presume? Heard they got alot of new shit in there.
