Insert Coin 2009 – UK public arcade expo launches!

It’s a great day for arcade gamers in the UK, as the Insert Coin 2009 expo has been announced! The show will run on July 18th and 19th at the Northampton Saints Conference CentreThe difference between Insert Coin and other arcade exhibitions is that the event is open to the public, with a great deal for any enthusiast to enjoy. The show will contain over 100 video games and pinball machines set to freeplay, including some that are extremely hard to find in the region, such as the hot fighting game Street Fighter IV, Cave’s new shoot-’em-up Death Smiles, and the cult Japanese fighter Melty Blood: Act Cadenza ver.B2. Additionally, nine tournaments will be running throughout the weekend taking in various genres and offering prizes for extreme displays of skill.

As well as being able to play games, enthusiasts will be able to bring and buy arcade PCBs and parts, attend tech talks and order games and cabinets from suppliers attending the show. Of course, if you’re lacking the kind of room or cash to make your dream arcade at home there will be arcade T-shirts and posters for sale too. Finally, if you’re feeling lucky there will be a raffle for two candy cabinets imported from Japan, an excellent prize for any fan of arcade games.

Tickets are available now and cost £10 for an under-16s weekend ticket, £15 for an adult day ticket or £23 for an adult weekend ticket. Insert Coin ’09 Expo – UK’s First Public Arcade Event!

At last – the United Kingdom’s huge gamer fan-base gets a dedicated arcade show
February 9, 2009 – London, United Kingdom – The British Isle’s largest public event for the best from the video amusement scene – called ‘Insert Coin ’09 Expo’— will take place on the 18th and 19th of July 2009, at the Northampton Saints Conference Centre.

In a celebration of ‘Player Power’ – this ground breaking event will offer a chance for gamers of all ages to experience a non-stop overload of the latest and greatest in all things in the video amusement universe. The event will comprise a dedicated exhibition space with over 100 of the latest coin-op video and pinball machines along with classic titles – all on free-play. Additionally, there will be over 50 stands selling items that encompass the hobby of classic gaming, to the latest arcade merchandising.

Tickets to Insert Coin ’09 Expo will range from £10 (under 16’s) to £15 (adult single day), the event having a capacity of over 3,000 visitors per day – it is expected that the majority of tickets will be ordered online. The Insert Coin event represents a social networking environment for the video gaming sector – a perfect location for casual play as well as intense competition. The organizers have arranged over nine high-level competitions and tournaments ranging across all types of machines, for competitors and spectators.  A unique opportunity for visitors will be that many of the machines on display will also be available to purchase hot off the show floor, special arrangements made by the show organizers for direct shipping.

Rather than just a gathering of home game consoles, the Insert Coin ‘09 Expo is dedicated to all things to do with video amusement – not achievable at home! The arcade scene has had a draw on players imagination since the first coin-operated arcade classics of the 1980’s. This event looks not only at the arcade Retro classics, but has something for the new generation of players hungry for the latest developments in the Japanese and American amusement scene – this event is here to feed that hunger.

In arranging the largest public expo for all things regarding the video amusement scene, the organizers have appointed an impressive line-up of partners to ensure that the show is World-class. In an exclusive relationship, Out-of-Home interactive entertainment consultancy KWP Limited, has been asked to undertake the marketing and media support for the event.
