Namco’s Razing Storm released to arcades around the world
Namco has announced that their new title Razing Storm (which we have talked about quite a bit already and I recently got some hands-on time with the game at ASI) is now in full production and that as such it should be available worldwide shortly. The game was quite popular at ASI and for FECs/arcades that pick it up, I imagine that it will be an eye-catcher at those locations for some time. As such we have moved Razing Storm into the Already Released category of our Arcade Release list for 2009.

So what is the price to the operator for this game?

I have heard that it will probably cost between $17-$18k. I wish I knew what the margins were so I could accurately make a judgement on that – it seems like they are still determined to focus on selling fewer games at a higher cost than by trying to sell more units at a lower cost. I imagine that a console version is planned down the road which should make up for development costs so I do not completely understand why that seems to be unloaded so heavily on operators but again, only Namco really knows what’s going on there.

It seems they have not yet heard about the world wide recession out there…..
