[thanks to Aaron Auzins for the tip]

Bemani fans have a lot to be happy about these days, with DDRX right around the corner and the news that Konami will being testing the 17th game in the Beatmania series starting tomorrow in Japan. Called Beatmania IIDX 17 Sirius (it always seems to be a mouthful with the Beatmanias), I do not have any information yet on what will make this BM game different from it’s predecessors other than that it follows a space theme but I imagine that we will be finding out that information very soon as Japanese players can play the game tomorrow at the Cat’s Eye Machida Arcade and also starting on the 29th until June 2nd at the Rundown Fukuoka Arcade.

the beat mania series isn’t as popular as the dance dance revolution series and it really quite hard to find a beat mania machine. there used to be one near where I live but an old one that was probably the first version I saw. the problem with this game is that it needs someone to demostrate how to play it properly like what they used to do for sega’s wccf football card game by giving the players tips on how to win and be more sucessful at the game. I think by doing that they will make beat mania more sucessful to be release again in to the west.

Sorry buddy, but the Beatmania series is one of the most successful Bemani games that’s still out there man. Out here in America its DDR, out there I believe its a three way dance between Beatmania, Pop’N Music and DrunmMania.

We might see something with the DJ games that coming out in the US (DJ Hero and Scratch)

you mean EZ2 DANCER don’t you. man I used to love playing that game. as for beat mania I can’t even find one here in the UK and the only one I know of is at inngoldmels near skegness seaside coast in silly billie’s arcade. I hope I find a Ubeat and DJ max machine when I go to maplethorp seaside soon for the weekend and when I go to malta in july. as for the DDR seires it’s still very popular and still played to this day (dancing stage european version).
