When I first played GlobalVR’s NASCAR a few years ago, I figured that it would only be a matter of time before the cabinets would somehow find their way into NASCAR venues and now it has finally happened. GlobalVR has teamed up with the JHE Production Group for the  2010 Sprint Experience. The Sprint Experience is a 14,400 sq. ft. interactive NASCAR-themed display that is dominated by eight custom NASCAR motion deluxe game cabinets which are housed in a special trailer. Looking closely at the picture above, I believe that they are using the mini-deluxe cabinets that were introduced with Twisted last year.

From the press release it sounds like the setup was a big hit and where they will continue to show this off through the season, I’m sure it will continue to be such a hit. No word on whether they will be offering the game in the online edition, although with eight linked units located in a venue that is bound to attract many fans to the display, that is probably unnecessary.

hit the post break for the presser.

GLOBAL VR® AND SPRINT KICK OFF NASCAR SEASON AT DAYTONA

SAN JOSE, Calif – (March 2, 2010) — GLOBAL VR and JHE Production Group have paired up to deliver one of the most exciting elements of the 2010 Sprint Experience, Sprint’s 14,400-square-foot interactive NASCAR-themed display.  Housing eight motion game-cabinets custom designed for the Sprint Cup Series of races, the NASCAR Racing Games Trailer is a mecca for both NASCAR and driving game enthusiasts.

Making its way from North Carolina to Daytona Beach, Florida, the Sprint Cup Trailer opened its doors to more than 19,000 fans to reveal one of the most elaborate mobile entertainment vehicles on the road to-date.  Over the course of the Daytona event, thousands took their place behind the wheel of one of the most exciting racing games ever developed.  “The games’ trailer was a highlight for many of the race attendees,” commented Gary Dozier, Senior Director of Mobile Marketing for JHE Production Group. “It is quite a thrill for fans to be behind the wheel of this NASCAR game.  They are able to experience the rush that pros get when racing this legendary racetrack without any of the risk.  It was rewarding for us to see the excitement that these games helped generate and we’re certain that attendees will be looking for this type of entertainment at other events.”

When asked about this event Elaine Shirley, VP Sales for GLOBAL VR stated, “It was a pleasure working with Gary and his team.  They knew exactly what they wanted which made development of these custom games a breeze.  We are thrilled that the game experience was such a hit at Daytona and we’re looking forward to the rest of the NASCAR Season.”

The Sprint Cup Trailer hit the road after the finish at Daytona and headed to Fontana, CA where the next race in the 2010 Season series was held.
