Fast & Furious: Super Cars by Raw Thrills

If anyone was thinking that the arena for arcade racers was going to be cooling off anytime soon then they will need to think again as Raw Thrills has surprised us with a follow-up to their hugely successful Fast And Furious racing series. Entitled Fast & Furious: Super Cars (notice how they kept the FnF license this time, unlike Super Bikes 2), the first question that will come to mind is what makes the game different? Here’s what we know so far:

27 tracks: new tracks + remastered favorites!
10 new exotic Super Cars!
Over 20 achievements to try for!
1080p Ultra Hi Def Graphics in a redesigned 32" LCD cabinet!

On top of that they are talking about a really low price on it – there was no official word on that yet but I have heard that it will be “substantially lower” (quoting a sales guy at a distributor I talked to the other day) than other racers out there, including some of the new ones making their debut. We’ll have to wait and see there but a low price is one surefire way to grab an operator’s attention. This is not the first arcade game to use achievements – that was something that H2Overdrive incorporated but so far it had been the only RT game to use such a feature. Where I am making up achievements for my own arcade (something we’ve been doing along with Galloping Ghost Arcade who brought it up to me a short time ago), it’s welcome to see more games making use of them.

Along with Big Buck World and Super Bikes 2, we can expect to see Super Cars at IAAPA next month but no release date has been given for Super Cars at this point.

Guys – I don’t think it is a Universal FatF franchise title – seems Raw Thrills are using a ‘Fast & Furious’ name to get round not having the license?

I will check, but they are a bit skittish to comment on these issues?

The source I received this info from stated that they were keeping the F&F license on this one.

Raw Thrills combines technology and muscle to produce one of the leading driving game for the world : The Fast & Furious™ Supercars™! This classic movie franchise screams into the new decade with true hi-definition car resolution with a 32″ HD 1080p display, and a very slick attention-grabbing cabinet.
