As is customary following a show, arcade news seems to slow down to a trickle for a while. So while we wait for some more news, here is some pictures from Amusement Expo 2011, taken by Kevin Williams of The Stinger Report. If you haven’t already, read my previous impressions of the show here or watch some videos I made at the event. Click below for the pics, which does include a few things which I didn’t get capture any footage of.

Cool stuff! I’m guessing from the lack of pics that the new Gundam pods were not on display yet by showtime. Does anybody have any idea where to purchase any of the older or new ones?

Gundam pods are Japan only, this show was a US one. I can certainly imagine the hype that would have taken place had Namco brought a few of those over!

Ah, I thought this was a worldwide show. I’d still love to get some of those as imports. Do you know anything about CoinOpExpress? They have them in stock sometimes but I’m hesitant to buy from a foreign reseller without knowing of their reputation.

IAAPA (in November) is worldwide but Amusement Expo is more US-centric.

Yeah I’ve heard of COE, never dealt with them but as far as I’ve heard, they are legit. Shipping on those Gundam pods is going to be a nightmare but if any ever made their way to the States, it would be very awesome!

Thanks, glad to hear they’re legit. It would indeed be a nightmare but since many of the games at the location would be what I already have in my collection, if it kicks off as well as I think I will I would totally direct profits towards the purchase of some of those. It’s not fair to us east coasters to keep the coolest cab overseas forever!
