Current Doctor Who cast plays some Doctor Who Pinball

I’m not sure how many of you are fans or occasional viewers of the BBC television series Doctor Who, but if so, then this should be of interest to you. If you’re not familiar with it, Doctor Who is a series that got it’s start back in 1963 and ran until 1989. After being canceled in ’89 it got a new start in 2005 and has been going strong ever since. I say “current” cast of Dr. Who in the headline as that is one distinct aspect of this show, where even the main characters are switched out frequently and the doctor is currently being played by Matt Smith, the 11th actor (well 12th if you consider a set mid-60’s movies) to take up the Doctor’s mantle. There’s a lot more that could be explained about the show but I’ll defer you to internet searches to save on space here, and to get to the point of the post.

The latest season of Dr. Who just got off to a start this past weekend, smashing ratings records for BBC America and the cast has been making the rounds in America recently as they did some filming for the new season here (including my home state of Utah). They dropped by Reciprocals Skateboards in East Village, NY to sit down for an interview as well as challenge each other to some Doctor Who Pinball, a machine released three years after the show was canceled in ’89. It’s actually a cool machine, I’ve had the opportunity to play it a couple of times before. Seeing how the show is becoming more popular via it’s modern iteration, who knows, someone might put together a new pinball machine based upon the series as well.

I am unable to embed the video here but head on over to Nymag.com to check it out.

UPDATE: That video has been posted to Youtube so you can watch that here:

Which Doctor Who cast would you prefer to play pinball with?
