Anytime the subject of video game history comes up, the influence of arcade gaming is unavoidable. A large number of innovations as well as innovators got their start in the coin-op world, which came into being around the same time that the computer and console industries did as well. In fact one advantage that arcades offered at the time was it gave the public a chance to have some hands-on time with a computer when having a computer at home was still a rare thing. Fortunately many of the innovators and pioneers that made the video game and computing industry what it is today are still around to provide their thoughts and insight into those times which have become practically legend.

A new documentary series interviews many of these individuals including Ralph Baer, Al Acorn, Nolan Bushnell, Eugene Jarvis, Steve Russell , Howard Scott Warshaw, Jeff Minter, David Crane, and Jack Tramiel.  The series will have five 1 hour episodes produced by a company by the name of Junk Food, with a release date TBA. Here’s a teaser for the series, with more previews to be found here.
