Wizard of Oz pinball playfield coming together nicely UPDATED

The Wizard of Oz Pinball tease continues but the latest update shows some significant additions to the machine, with some toys to be found on the left side of the playfield. If you’re looking for a full-featured pinball game, this certainly looks like it’s going to do the job. This already looks quite playable despite lacking all of the lights, artwork and remaining toys like the Flying Monkey and the house.

UPDATE: The most recent email from JJP has revealed some important game features, one that stands out however is this: it is going to be a widebody game! I have only seen a couple of widebody machines from the late 70s, in particular some rare Atari pinball machines. I know there were more but it’s been quite a long time since we last saw that sort of design. Dimensionally, Wizard of Oz will be the same as Twilight Zone pinball, which in itself was a highly rated machine, often it’s #1 on pinball player lists of likability and desirability.

If you want to read about some of the other features the game will have, which mostly covers the high quality of the machine players will get, click below:

When I first heard of this new company, and project, I thought it was going to be just something for hardcore collectors, but instead we’ve actually got competition now in the pinball industry! Competition is always good, even if the economy and market is down.

I do have to say that “The Wizard of Oz” does indeed have a very large (and wealthy) fan base that will gobble up this pin once it’s released.

These Jersey Jack guys need to be applauded for not only resurrecting the wide body pin, but to also for using Williams/Bally parts, something that I wish Stern would do, at least for the Flippers.

I do also love the bumper in the outlane, which I don’t think has been done since Paragon in the 70’s.
