First Look At Big Buck HD

(UPDATE: See pictures of the game cabinet and read about features from the Las Vegas Reveal!)

It’s no secret that that latest Big Buck Hunter game is just about to hit the scene and while the official unveiling of the game is less than two weeks away, we didn’t have a clue as to what we might expect out of the new version, until now. Of course one could assume a little bit out of the HD moniker and as you will see from the screengrabs as well as the video below, this is the first major graphical upgrade that the Big Buck series will have seen in quite some time. This trailer gives a pretty good comparison of just how much of an HD upgrade this is over the previous titles, employing a slew of modern graphical techniques to make the game look purty.

I imagine that more is in store than just a graphics upgrade but we will have to stay tuned on that one. Here are some graphic stills I captured from the video in case anyone wanted a better look at the game. They have put a lot of detail into the environments, the plants are much more convincing and from what I could tell the water effects are sleek. It’s never a bad thing for an arcade game to show off graphically since that will help draw players in.

I wonder if this will be the first Big Buck Hunter game to introduce bears.

Big Buck HD is already in a few bars in Lincoln Park in Chicago. It does indeed have bears. Too 3d if you ask me.

That must be where they are testing it. I would love to see some pics of it, see how different it happens to be

It is VERY different. Almost a bit too different. The guns feel amazing, but I found it hard to make a ‘precision’ shot in comparison to world. May just take some getting used to, but it was almost too much of a change for this BBH fan.

Maybe it’s still a beta test game that you played and that by the time it’s out you’ll shouldn’t have any trouble with aiming in the final release

Can someone please take some pics of one of the beta games, there is nothing out there in the way of the pics of the cabinet just yet.

I’ve got a batch of pics almost ready to go – problem is the album I got a link to isn’t working. If it doesn’t come through shortly I’ll have pics up first thing tomorrow
