First Trailer for Namco’s Dark Escape 3D

“Well it’s about time,” I was thinking to myself when I saw this pop up on Bandai Namco’s Japanese Youtube channel. They’ve been teasing this game for months now but this is the first time the game has been shown in action (footage is in 2D of course) as today is the release date in Japan. Otherwise all we’ve had is a cabinet shot and a small handful of screenshots.  As I’ve mentioned numerous times before, this game is slated for a Western release but when exactly is unknown(also as a note, the game will be called Dark Escape 4D outside Asia). I believe it will be shown for the first time outside of testing next month in Chicago at the AAMA Distributor Gala. Either way, you won’t have to book a flight to Japan to check this out, you just need to wait a little longer.

Namco has thrown a bit into this to make it more of a simulator experience than a typical light-gun game happens to be. On top of the 3D effect (the glasses use an anti-microbial coating in case anyone is worried about that), the seat shakes, there is full surround sound for each player and it even has air effects to swipe your neck and legs. Pretty cool. The game is housed in a theater cabinet to block the outside moise and keep the players into the experience. The heartbeat sensor is built into the handles of the guns and as this shows, can be used to mock your companion in case they are the extra jittery type. This is certainly not a game for the little ones but I think it will be a big hit in venues, especially if they get it out in time enough for Halloween.

this the the best light gun game i’ve ever played in my life,
i’ve been to the location test in japan the end of last year…and it was suuuuuper suuuuper scary.
It will surely be a super hit in arcades and will long term surclass any other light gun game including death storm pirates and let’s go island.
