Dark Escape 4D Official English Trailer

There’s not much that I need to say about this as it is self-explanatory but Namco America has finally released a trailer for their upcoming arcade exclusive shooter, Dark Escape 4D. This trailer is based on the Japanese one but seems to be a little more detailed. The 4 stages in the game are based on phobias, which is neat little way to go about the action since there are phobias a plenty out there. The game will be released out West by the end of the year.

    Where’s Tekken Tag Tournament 2? The Xbox/PS3 version hits the stores any day now but I’m still hoping for an official arcade release

    I just got a copy of 360 version today! Wait! Did the US arcade release get canceled at some point or something!? If so then that’s a DAMN shame! 🙁 On the last day of LOC testing in my area, I must’ve been on the machine for a solid 5 or 6 hours consisting of mostly VS matches against a friend and plenty of challengers throughout the evening! I was spent after that marathon.

      @CD,

      >”Did the US arcade release get canceled at some point or something!?”

      The game was incredibly well received on test, saw mass emails from the fans for Namco America to deploy the machine, and the US operations president bent my ear about what they were evaluating towards a deployment back in March…. and then nothing!

      When the news of the consumer release date hit the wires back in April, I sent email after email to media and sales at Namco for confirmation on the situation on the release plans for amusement. Eventually (off the record) I was told that Namco management did not want to comment and would not speak to us.

      Seems they were having a major sulk – as we (The Stinger Report) was supplying information in our coverage that contradicted what they (Namco sales) were telling their Japanese bosses. It would seem that the Japanese are not happy with the disconnect and American executives are not happy having to prove what they are saying is fact and blaming everyone for their wows! (shame).

      We also stumbled on a number of disconnects regarding the interest in TTT2 – the coin-op sales team have said in private there is no real trade interest to buy the connected machines at the price they want to ship it for (export, translation, rewiring, and connectivity), and the hardware dose not ‘fly’.

      But we have just learned that Namco consumer games imported eight TTT2 cabinets from Japan (avoiding arcade sales) given to console magazines to promote the consumer launch!! Very embarrassing for the coin-op sales!

      I am looking forward to what will happen when I hit the Namco America booth at IAAPA in November – will they pretend that nothing is wrong and push just ‘Dark Escape 4D’… or will they try and blank us? When they see what we are running in our TTT2 exclusive coverage in the Stinger next month I think I might get it in the neck!
