Arcade Openings: Headquarters Opening In Lakeview,IL Oct. 11th; Arkadia Retrocade in Fayetteville, AR Around Oct. 18th

To place under our file of arcade growth evidence, today we have a couple of stories of new arcades opening their doors in the US.

First off, if there is one place where arcade fans cannot complain about the lack of arcades, its the Chicago IL region. We’ve already reported on the opening of various locations there, with recent locations including the Underground Retrocade and No Limits Arcade. Now in Lakeview, a barcade is opening this Thursday called Headquarters. A full list of what they will have is not available but it will entail of at least 37 classics including “Centipede, Donkey Kong, Tetris, and NBA JAM“. A little more information on this one is found @ Red Eye Chicago. UPDATE: Editor found their website which you can visit here. The games they have include Defender, Space Invaders, Robotron, Pac-Man, Burgertime, Battlezone, Contra, The Simpsons, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter II, and  more.

Next up is a location opening within a couple of weeks in Fayetteville, AR called Arkadia Retrocade at the Evelyn Hills Shopping Center. They will have a sizable collection of games, with about 75 games to enjoy. The information on what is found at this one is a bit more complete, with Asteroids, Galaga, Burgertime, Donkey Kong, Centipede, Pengo, Track & Field, Karate Champ, Tempest, Zaxxon and more. As one expects when it comes to retrocades, they have a few uncommon games as well, like Skull & Crossbones and Silkworm. I can’t find any websites for either of these businesses so far, just the articles talking about them but either way we wish them the best of luck in business!

Arkadia Retrocade opened this weekend in Arkansas to a big crowd. They are working on a web site I think, but for now they have a FB and a Twitter. If you are in NWA for business or pleasure check them out.
