A new pinball museum will be opening its doors in Ann Arbor, MI in the next few months, thanks to 238 backers on Kickstarter.

From an abandoned VFW facility to a pinball museum.

Pinball museums seem to be an idea gaining steam across the country. We have reported on a few opening their doors over the past few years, most recently last week with the Asheville Pinball Museum in North Carolina. For the Ann Arbor Pinball Museum they took an approach similar to the Museum of Pinball  mentioned on AH back in July. They have obtained a large property of 10 acres located where an old VFW facility was and have been in the process of fixing it up.They already have 200+ machines (spanning from the 1930s to now) to fit into a space but that fixing part takes some capital to get it ready for the pubic to enjoy.

Thus entered the Kickstarter project. They needed $5000 to make the necessary repairs and upgrades and fortunately obtained twice that over the 30 day funding period. I  would have reported on this sooner but was not made aware of it until now; either way since they have surpassed the goal the funds will help get the building ready for primetime so look for a follow-up story about their opening sometime this fall.
