Shooty Skies On Test In Canada

(Thanks to Jdevy for the tip)

One popular trend that we have covered in arcades in recent years is the conversion of popular mobile games over to videmption game pieces. That list has included Fruit Ninja, Infinity Blade, Angry Birds, Subway Surfers, Temple Run and several other titles. One company that has been particularly fond of mobile-to-arcade ports is a Canadian company called Adrenaline Amusements. Fruit Ninja FX was their break out title and most recently they brought the popular Crossy Road into the mix. Now they are prepping a new port:

Shooty Skies Arcade

Developed by the same team that created Crossy Road, Shooty Skies uses a similar aesthetic but features something of a frantic shoot ’em up. Perhaps this would be classified as a “cute ’em up“.  Here is a trailer for the mobile version:

The arcade version on test is spotted in this video where the gentleman takes his daughter to a Playdium arcade center in Toronto, Canada.  The Shooty Skies game is spotted near the entrance around the 1:27-1:30 mark (there are plenty of other newer arcade games in the video – World’s Largest Pac-Man, Mario Kart Arcade GP DX, Lost Land Adventure, Time Crisis 5…not sure if that’s Tekken 6 or 7)

Here is a modded screencap where you can see that it uses the same cabinet that Crossy Road Arcade does. Its impossible to tell how it controls however:

Here is a shot where you can see it from far off. It is to the left of the Candy Crush Saga (another Adrenaline Game). That is where it is easy enough to see that it has the Shooty Skies logo.

The AAMA Gala is happening in a few weeks and often Adrenaline unveils a new game there. We will keep an eye out for it.

Giant Rock’Em Sock ‘Em Robots on Test At A Dave & Busters?

According to this comment on the D&B Reddit, that is the case but it isn’t clear which D&B location it is testing at and no photographic evidence to back it up. They also mention something about a “hybrid skee-ball game”.

Also, for all of those out there waiting for info on the upcoming return to Cruis’n, more exclusive info is coming soon! To whet your appetite, the new title is “Cruis’n Blast”. Stay tuned.

Never heard of shooty skies but certainly looks interesting to play. Seems this decade’s style seems to be on cubes what with minecraft, Crossy roads, pacman 256 etc.

I was there recently so snapped this pic; has a full directional joystick with no fire button (autofire). Hopefully other places like D&B will add it to their roster. http://imgur.com/a/tOPer
