Japan To Receive “Go! Go!” Update To Mario Kart Arcade GP DX

At the end of 2016, news came down that Bandai Namco’s Mario Kart Arcade GP DX games in the West would be receiving their final update. This update would add some content to the game that gamers in Japan had enjoyed but it would also mean that the game would no longer be online, deactivating the requirement for that portion. The same is not applicable to Japan, where the game has enjoyed additional updates and content over the past few years.

Mario Kart Arcade GP DX Go! Go! Update

Today Bandai Namco unveiled a new update for the Japanese version of the game, replete with a new trailer that shows a family taking the Go! Go! version of the game for a spin as they repeatedly crush their father’s pride. The new update includes tracks from various MK console outings, including Mario Kart 7 (3DS), Mario Kart 8 (Wii U), Super Mario Kart (SNES) and Mario Kart 64 (N64). I do not believe that the particular tracks have been used in any other game, except for the N64 one. Someone feel free to correct me on that if it is a wrong assumption 😛

By the details on the website, this update is significant enough to include a brand new marquee. It also might include an upgrade to the sound, if I’m reading the translation right.
