Stern Pinball Pulls The Curtain Back On Deadpool

From rumor to teaser to a full unveil, Stern Pinball has unveiled their latest creation, Deadpool. Designed by George Gomez, programmed by Tanio Klyce and artwork by “Zombie Yeti” (who has done the art on many recent Stern machines including Iron Maiden & Ghostbusters), Stern is promising to capture “the personality of Deadpool” through this machine.

The Deadpool Trailer

Let’s start with new Pro model trailer video and go from there:

As we see from that, the primary toy on the playfield is the Deadpool bash toy, although the Katana ramp (shown below from the LE model) on the right hand side certainly stands out. It’s a nice feature to have the pinball go through the handle. There are a number of other characters represented on the playfield with plastic cut-outs instead of 3D figurines (you have to upgrade for those, in certain instances). The graphics on the video screen have an early ’90s video game quality to them.

Here’s a better look at the Pro model playfield (EDIT: Stern posted higher resolution photos to their Facebook page, sharing those instead):

Pro models have an MSRP of $5999 and from the article, sounds like they are available now. All three models are showing up on the Stern Pinball website, expect those pages to update throughout the day.

Premium/LE Models

As with other Stern designs, Deadpool is also available in more detailed Premium & LE models. That includes different backbox & side art; 3D figurines for Wolverine & Dazzler; a 3D molded chimichanga truck time machine and a disco ball with illuminated effects. Here’s the Premium Model:

…the Limited Edition, limited to 500 units globally, includes a 12” Vinyl LP featuring 11 original music tracks with cover art by Zombie Yeti.

In addition to the vinyl LP, the Limited Edition model includes features like exclusive mirrored backglass, anti-reflection pinball glass, shaker motor, exclusive art blades, and powder-coated metal flake Deadpool Red side armor, hinges, and front lockdown molding.

I imagine locations will start getting their hands on these pretty soon, so if you get a chance to play it, let us know what you think!
