Brief 'my arcade' update and a new arcade blog

It’s time for a brief update on my arcade and I hate to say that almost nothing has happened since my last post. It’s really infuriated me – I was told to expect signing the lease that week but then nothing happened. Last I heard the person in charge is on vacation this week and I am supposed to hear something by Monday. I am very close to dropping these guys and just going to a mall a few miles away as it should not have taken 6-7 months to get into a store but it has in my case. I would prefer to open my store in the area where I am having the issue however as there is no competition even close -if I go to the mall then there are two arcades in that mall already (although very, very small ones) and two larger arcades only a few blocks away – so that would be crowded and is one reason why I’ve only considered that place as a last resort. I’m considering it as no other place to open a store in at a reasonable price has shown up over the past few months and I have to be open by this summer. Missing this summer or most of it would be tough to deal with (although not impossible). But in good news I did get my working capital line of credit extended an extra $10,000 so that gives me more to work with when it comes to buying materials to fix up my sotre whereever it goes and do things like some decent advertising.

And speaking of running an arcade, I was contacted by someone who is already running their own arcade and recently began a blog of their own about the subject. There isn’t a lot there yet but it should be interesting to see what else he’ll post. Check out the Memories Games Arcade blog.
