Namco’s Maximum Heat on location test

arcadehero September 18, 2010 6

While Namco America prepares to release their newest racer, Dead Heat to the North American market, a variation on that same game is now testing in Japan. We first heard about Maximim Heat last week, where it includes a 3D monitor setup (Dead Heat does not). Maximum Heat does use glasses similar to Konami’s new Road Fighters, with them mounted to the cabinet in a manner that the user doesn’t have to wear them. As long as the operator makes sure that they stay clean (and as long as the mounting mechanism can’t be easily broken or damaged) then the setup can work out fine. No price has been revealed on this yet, which I am very curious to see, as a way to continually judge what sort of premium game makers might be putting on 3D.

I noticed the same type of steering wheel on many racing games now. Guess they must be cheap!

    Nice new layout BTW. 🙂

Thanks! It took me forever to find this one as our old theme wasn’t available (that and I think it was time for a change anyways).
