Taito’s Gaia Attack 4 testing in the UK

When Taito demonstrated a new four-player light-gun shooter title at AOU this past February called Gaia Attack 4, there was no indication that it would get an international release, although we had a hunch that it might since they had been pushing both Elevator Action: Death Parade and Panic Museum on the market earlier this year. The game was released in Japan on June 25th and since then we’ve heard little about the game.  Today that changed however as GA4 was seen on test at an undisclosed location the Trocadero in the UK, which you see in this post courtesy of Kevin Williams of The Stinger Report.

Another shot of the cabinet

It’s unknown at the moment what sort of distribution the game might see and at what price (the Japanese price was a little over $12k) but that will probably be cleared up very soon. By looking at the shots provided, the marquee could at least use some lighting at that price. 😉

Also in case you are new to this game, here is the trailer for it in Japanese. It certainly has the quirky angle covered and couple that with four light-guns instead of the usual two and it shouldn’t have a hard time attracting attention. This entry can also give us hope for Darius Burst Another Chronicle; it is true that most of the Taito games getting an English release are light-gun shooters but I think that there is more interest in DBAC out there than other Taito titles of recent memory.

I actually played this on Monday at the ‘undisclosed’ location. Any reason this is being kept secret?

Thanks for the location, I wondered if it was the Trocadero. Not sure why it wasn’t mentioned. Would you also happen to know who will carry it? Electrocoin I imagine?
