Fast and Furious Super Cars by Raw Thrills shipping this week

The latest edition of Raw Thrills’ popular Fast And Furious racing series begins shipping this week and that means soon you might find it at a venue near you. I got some hands-on time with this game when it was shown recently at IAAPA 2010, you can see some of it in action by watching the video below. From what time I spent playing it, I see it as Tokyo Drift with some solid improvements which you can see below. It also has a price tag under $7000 which is made more beneficial in racers since an operator generally needs to purchase more than one of to provide a decent racing experience for players at the arcade.

I was under the impression at the show that the game was available then but I was informed by BMI Gaming that it actually will be shipping at the end of this week. BMI will also have some extra video of this game in action, expect to see that on their Youtube channel very soon.

UPDATE: BMI Gaming has made a great video showing this in action at IAAPA

What are the dimensions for the monitor for the 7000$ cabinet. Are kits also available?

It’s a 32″ 1080p LCD – that’s all I know about the monitor. There aren’t any kits available yet, but since they did some with Tokyo Drift then it’s certainly a possibility for them to do one. Also since Sega just did a Sega Rally 3 kit, I’d say it’s likely for them to release another racing kit of their own to compete.

The only real complaint I had with the Fast and the Furious games was that the graphics looked real bad to me. Super Bikes 2 and Super Cars look a lot better, with no noticeable pop-up and no drops in the framerate. Everything else looks like the same Cruis’n-style action as usual, and I can’t complain about that!

Can’t wait to get some quarters into this!
