Midwest Gaming Classic celebrates 10 years

The annual Midwest Gaming Classic event is approaching fast and with it, there is an abundance of arcade goodness to look forward to. According to one of the event’s organizers, John Norman :

The show will kick off with some Friday night parties and tournaments, and then begin in earnest Saturday, March 26 and Sunday, March 27th.  Guest speakers this year include arcade legend Eugene Jarvis of Defender and now Raw Thrills fame, George Gomez of Spy Hunter and Tron fame, Jack “Jersey Jack” Guarnieri will be on hand Sunday to talk about his new pinball startup, and modders Ben Heck & Jeri Ellsworth will both have new pinball machines on hand to kick off their “Pinball Wars” event in the BenHeck.com Experience room.  There are also a number of other speakers booked for the event including a possible live appearance by the venerable Ralph Baer.As for other arcade/pinball centric news, the arcade room will be expanding beyond its own room this year including a section of classic arcades provided by Galloping Ghost Arcade in the VGEvo events room.

You can still pre-order tickets including discounted two-day tickets for a few more days until March 10th, but after that only single-day tickets will be available at the door.  More information including tournaments can of course be found on the Midwest Gaming Classic website at www.midwestgamingclassic.com.

This will be taking place at the Sheraton Milwaukee Brookfield Hotel in Brookfield, WI. If I could make it, I would happily bring along my cabinet for The Act: An Interactive Comedy so more people could experience that (although I need to replace the spinner on that again – not sure why but the spinner has died twice on this thing). I also think this sounds like it will be quite an event for pinball fans with some new content to enjoy.
