Following the news of profits up at Bandai Namco is another amusement company seeing increased earnings in Q2 – Chuck E. Cheese, or CEC Entertainment Inc. Net income was up 36% and revenues were up 3% from last year, although CEC says that competition specifically from PG-13 movies, the weather and shaken consumer confidence has hurt the overall results.

Whether we’ll see more of these kinds of results from companies like Dave & Busters remains to be seen. Second quarter of course is April-June, so I’m surprised that CEC didn’t specifically mention the gas price increases since May as well. Economic news the past while hasn’t been the rosiest so it’s good to see some companies within our ranks posting some good news.
