Happy (belated) New Year everyone. I hope that the time went by without a negative incident for everyone.

First piece of news for 2012, just so happens to be an article from the end of November that went overlooked until now. In Japan Taito operates a number of locations where you can find some arcade entertainment, in particular the Taito Game Stations. There have been some closures of poor locations but now the company wants to expand the number of stores to 100. That’s quite an increase in so short a time, I hope it goes well for them. The article reporting this can be found here @ Showbiz.jp.

Since we’re on the subject of Taito, that also can lead us into Square Enix, since SE owns Taito. Here is a picture of the actual Gyrozetter cabinet, the transforming cabinet they are working on that we talked about a short time ago, as well as a trailer video below that. Previously we had only seen graphical representations of said cabinet. It has some nice LED lighting, and judging by the video the transformation effect will be an attention getter as expected.

The official Gyrozetter website has more tiny pictures in case anyone is curious.
