Arcades Get Some Love In New Issue of Continue Magazine

Via The Stinger Report

It’s been a little while since we reported on arcades showing up in a game magazine – such an occurrence is erratic at best. Fortunately in the 2nd issue of a new general gaming publication called Continue Magazine, we have an example of an up-to-date look at arcades. For a rundown of what the magazine is about, I borrow the following from their website:

Published four times a year, Continue is a magazine about gaming culture that covers everything we love about the notion of humans having fun. We’re features-led, intelligently-written, and cover all aspects of gaming, from the biggest AAA console shooters to the most obscure board games known to man. We won’t tell you what games to buy or what you should be getting excited about six months from now. Instead, Continue is about the games we play right now, the way we play them and the people we play them with.

The article was penned by Kevin Williams a partner to the site here who provides us with a lot of arcade news. Here’s part of the article – the rest of it is two more pages of info that covers online features of the latest Golden Tee and Big Buck titles and a few other recent coin-op developments.

More on this particular issue here.

    1. I *Love* that Pacman Battle Royale setup – amazing.

    2. Pong debuted in *1971*, did it?
    OOPS!

@Gabe – the Pong prototype used at Andy Capp was shown at the end of 1971 – the machine was ‘productized’ and then launched in 1972.

Be careful of Wiki research – some of their dates are off – such as claiming Nolan saw the Magnazox in June 1972 (should be 1971)!

    Un-oops!!

    Really? Oh.

Well… who am I to argue with such a serious moustache?

No Gabe, its a good point, I should have stuck to the production date not the prototype – no one is perfect, even with such a superior mustache 🙂
