Location News: 2nd Round 1 Facility Opens in CA; New UltraStar Cinema in AZ

Here is some news about two new locations out there although unfortunately details on exact game selection and photos for both is in very short supply at present. I offer up what I have been able to figure out so far and yes, these thumbnail pictures are the best I can find on each facility so far.

First is one that happened in September that I only heard of a short time ago, the 2nd Round 1 location in the USA, particularly at the Moreno Valley Mall in Moreno Valley, CA. Round 1 is a large company in Japan that is an FEC that combines bowling, arcades, karaoke, billiards, darts, ping pong, etc. into one facility. Their first US location in the City of Industry, CA has been popular and a goto location to find some rare gems that you otherwise can only find in Japan. They have the capital however to go the extra mile and have English translations done for some of these particular machines like the newer versions of Guitar Freaks/Drum Mania or Dariusburst Another Chronicle EX. I have been unable to locate a list of games at the new facility but we can at least assume that it is stocked with the latest games. You can visit the Moreno Valley Round 1 Facebook page here.

(Thanks to The Stinger Report for the tip on this one)

On the second location we head over to Arizona where the UltraStar Cinema’s is preparing to launch their largest complex in their chain in Maricopa, AZ. The new facility will cover nearly 165,000 sq. ft. and in addition to 12 movie screens, a bowling center, various food options, lazer tag and an amphitheater, they also will have a “Play ‘N Win Game Cente redemption arcade for all ages”. According to the press release about it, it will be “a large arcade area featuring the newest and hottest video and redemption games.”  But so far, there is no list I can find of what games are there. The new facility will be open on November 15th. That actually will be happening the day after a major new theater will be opening its doors in the mall where my own arcade is located, north of Arizona in Utah by the name of Larry H. Miller Megaplex Theaters. They will have a lot of technology like this UltraStar theater will have, such as new D-Box motion seats and VIP rooms. I was told initially that the facility wouldn’t have an arcade so I’ve stuck around in the mall but of course now I’ve been hearing rumors that they will in fact have some arcade games of some kind. If so, I will share it here, unless its just a game or two where it might not really matter. Anyways, here is the website for the new UltraStar facility. And for those interested, here is the press release about the location:

Oh snap, I seriously thought you knew about the second location out here (Round 1) I haven’t been there since its stupid far and they pretty much have the same line up as the original one. They just have PAC-Man battle in the bar area supposedly.

And that US-C looks sick as well. Hopefully someone gets some pictures soon
