Along with these major developments, the DNA can announce the bestowing of the first ‘Honorary Member’ into the Association.

The First Fifty

The DNA Association can announce the first fifty Founding Members – an amazing feat in just a matter of months to attract leading names from throughout the key areas of the Out-of-Home entertainment sector, comprising amusement, attractions, retail, hospitality, edutainment and leisure. This support established in the DNA being the only organization to promote and support the opportunities and developments in the Digital Out-of-Home Entertainment (DOE) sector.

The full list of the first fifty Founding Members is enclosed with this press announcement. The DNA Associations founding chairman, Kevin Williams, announced some of the names that have signed-up to support the brand new association. “I am honored to reveal that names such as SEGA Amusements, NAMCO ENTERTAINMENT INC., LAI Games, UNIS and Raw Thrills are just some of the amusement corporations that have joined the DNA this year.” “Likewise respected names such as Brunswick Bowling, Sound Leisure, Simworx, Creative Works and Dave & Buster’s from the attraction and hospitality areas of DOE sector are a few of the total that have added their names.”

Kevin continued, “In launching the DNA Association, I have been amazed by the groundswell of support from all ranks of the industry – and I would like to offer my thanks for all the encouragement we have received, looking forward to working alongside you all to make this organization a beacon of innovation and growth in our respective sectors.” In gathering such an auspicious initial list of founding members the DNA Association now moves towards consolidating its position, starting the work of promoting businesses opportunities and forming new alliances.

With the welcoming of our first fifty Founding Members the DNA Association also announces the bestowing of its first ‘Honorary Membership’ – industry visionary Nolan Bushnell, credited for his work in establishing the early video amusement business, agreeing to be the first of an exclusive number to the associations alumni.

Industry Representation

The fundamental rationale for establishing this not-for-profit association was to highlight the scope of and opportunities afforded by the Digital Out-of-Home Entertainment (DOE) sector, and to promote key developments of its members in this evolving market sector.

The DNA Association can reveal that a Book will be published this year covering in detail the DOE market and key developers and visionaries responsible for its emergence. Entitled “The Out-of-Home Immersive Entertainment Frontier” – it includes a detailed overview of the business as well as exclusive interviews with over sixty executives directly linked to the creation and development of the DOE sector, including interviews with  Nolan Bushnell, as well as with representatives from, Raw Thrills, Triotech, NAMCO ENTERTAINMENT INC., Dave & Buster’s, eXcape Entertainment, Creative Works, Sally Corp., Apple Industries, Oculus LLC, and Brent Bushnell of Two Bit Circus, to name a few. The paperback is due to be published later this year by Gower Publishing, one of the world’s leading business and management book publishers, and will be available for pre-order:

To be released in November, the Yearbook will be available for circulation through the trade – to be made available through a unique agreement between the DNA and the publisher 1878 Media, a specialist media company with over 15 years’ experience  of working with leading associations, government,  local and national businesses. Recent Activities

Following the success of the 2011 inaugural London, and 2012 Los Angeles conferences – the association held a special one-day seminar at the beginning of this year – the DNA London Seminar 2013 was organized in association with the EAG International exhibition dedicated to the amusement and leisure industries, held in January. Along with this effort the DNA founding chairman has been involved in a number of high profile presentations to affiliated organizations, which are interested in the opportunity that the DOE sector represents for its membership.

In one of these presentations, the DNA was invited to present the opportunities in DOE to Vendorcom, the organization and special interest group of the cards & payments community, representing key stakeholders in the cards and payments industry – Vendorcom and the DNA have entered into discussions on future events. Likewise, the DNA announced earlier in the year it has entered into collaboration with the annual Square Meal Venues & Event exhibition, the UK’s premier gathering in the corporate events and hospitality sector. Now in its 9th year the event will be held at the Old Billingsgate venue in the City of London September 18th & 19th 2013 – a special ‘Supporters Rate’ is offered to DNA friends and supporters.

Towards the Future

At this mid-point of2013, the DNA Association has further developments in negotiation – and will announce plans for a special gathering of members and supporters for the end of the year – as well as discussions for the next two-day conference, scheduled for 2014. In addition, work will proceed shortly with updating of the popular DNA Association website and social network; discussions are underway to support members with a brand new newsletter targeted exclusively towards supporting and promoting activities and developments in the sector.

Efforts are now underway to continue the growth of the DNA from this phenomenal start – with a special emphasis on increasing the number of members, establishing affiliations with likeminded organizations, and building the scope of services and activities that are exclusively available.
