New Arcade Releases: Mario Kart Arcade GP DX, ReRave Plus

There were a couple games on our release list which were schedule for a May 2014 release but the month came and went without any official word on the availability of those games. I’ve received confirmation that they are available now. Also stay tuned later this week for a special video where some interesting new announcement or two will be showing up. 😉

First off, Bandai Namco Amusement’s Mario Kart Arcade GP DX is officially available. This had been available as a timed exclusive at certain locations like Dave & Busters since the beginning of Spring. Of interest to operators, the annual updates that the game will receive have their cost covered by a monthly $50/per seat charge. The game has to be online, even for the few out there that may get one for their homes. Interestingly enough, today in Japan they issued this QR code to unlock some sort of character or item, Strawberry Don Chan. I doubt it works on the International Version but here’s a link either way. Here is a direct feed from the game’s Attract Mode that Bandai Namco shared with me. If you need more info on the features this game has, check out this post.

After a small delay, the second version of the touch rhythm game ReRave is now available for arcades to pick up. Known as ReRave Plus, we have known about this since November of last year, developed by Step Revolution. I got a chance to try it out when I attended Amusement Expo 2014 in Las Vegas this past March. I did a video explaining all of that so I may as well just repost it here, the only change I know of since is that a kit is available for existing ReRave cabinets as well.

While it was released in April, I happened to overlook this trailer for the new Super Alpine Racer, which was uploaded last month in May. One thing this trailer settles are the number of linkable units which I heard different numbers on, which changed from 4 to 2 to now 8.

Check out Bandai Namco Amusement’s Website as well, where their current game roster is listed on the right-hand side.
