Broadway Bar and Arcade Opens Near Pittsburgh, PA

Right before I get to the location news, my thanks to Darktetsuya for this link to a tweet by Harada, head honcho of Tekken 7. It points out that the game will be showing up at Dave & Busters as well as Round 1 USA, so this will be getting a wider release than we had expected. Now here’s hoping they wait long enough to do the console release so as to not stamp out arcade interest in the game.

If you find yourself in or near Monroeville, PA (which is located east of Pittsburgh), then a new bar/arcade has opened their doors by the name of Broadway Bar and Arcade. They soft opened their doors recently and will have a big Grand Opening event on July 18th, which has also landed some sponsorships from ICE Games and Heighway Pinball.

We have seen many bar/arcades open their doors in recent years and many have followed a particular model of charging just for food and the games are on free play but this particular location is using quarters for the games. The video content includes “over 40 arcade games”, which includes: After Burner, Area 51: Site 4, Crazy Taxi, Cruis’n World, Dig Dug, Ghost Squad, Hydro Thunder, Killer Instinct, Lethal Enforcers II, Mortal Kombat I, II, & III, Ms. Pac-Man, NBA Jam, NFL Blitz, Q*Bert, Robotron 2084, Shinobi, Spy Hunter, Star Wars Trilogy Arcade, Street Fighter I & II, Tapper, Tekken 5, TRON and several more. They also have a line-up of 20 pinball machines, including: Attack From Mars, (The) Avengers, Iron Man, Metallica, Mustang, Revenge From Mars, Starship Troopers, The Walking Dead, TRON, Who Dunnit, X-Men and more…they also are the first USA location I have heard of that will have Heighway Pinball’s first game, Full Throttle on site.

We wish them the best of luck in their business and if you are nearby, go check them out!

haha thanks! I was waiting for the other gaming blogs to pick that up, but harada-san had confirmed on twitter that D&B would be getting the TEKKEN 7 location tests as well.

(I do wish Konami would expand DDR to D&B as well, but that’s a rant for another time I think.)

I suppose it depends on who is really handling DDR in the US right now. It seems very unlikely that Konami is doing it themselves, I’m guessing they are working with someone here. Could be Raw Thrills given their work together on Guitar Hero, but that’s just a guess.
