My newsfeeds were a little full of new location news this morning (in part as I didn’t check it for a few days 😛 ) so let’s try and sort it out in one post!

UPDATE: VUK ADDED BELOW

8Bits+Bytes Temporary “Pop-Up” Arcade Open in Sydney Australia May 27th – June 18th – When you have a temporary entertainment event then that seems to be a good place to throw in some arcade gaming. Such is happening with the “Vivid 2016” event in Sydney Australia which starts in just a few days. What games will be there are not mentioned in this article @ Concrete Playground that details the event but if you are in Sydney then I imagine that this won’t be hard to miss.

New Barcade site opens in New Haven, CT– Given the huge number of bar/arcades that have opened up out there, it’s a good thing for the company that has the trademarked Barcade name that they got it when they did. They have also been expanding their operations in the NorthEast, opening up their 6th location at the beginning of this month in Connecticut. As you would expect from their game line-up, it is full of classics: Aliens & Arkanoid, Contra & Crazy Taxi, Donkey Kong & Double Dragon, Mappy & Ms. Pac-Man, T-Mek & Tapper and many others. The aren’t averse to new games, carrying Pac-Man Battle Royale on site; you can check out the full games list for the location here.

Fire Betty’s Arcade Bar in Tallahassee,  FL– This is actually one that opened near the beginning of 2015 so we’ll file it under “better late than never”.  Another bar/arcade concept with a focus on older titles, they have the likes of Battletoads, Galaga, Joust, Mortal Kombat 4, Ms. Pac-Man, NBA Jam/NFL Blitz, Space Invaders, Tekken 5, TMNT: Turtles In Time as well as some older pinball tables like Earthshaker, The Phantom of the Opera, Totem and more. You can check out their official website here.

Silverball Museum Now Open In Delray Beach, FL – Since we just mentioned Florida we might as well stick with it. Down in Delray Beach, FL a new arcade that is dedicated more towards pinball than other types of arcade gaming has opened their doors. As the second location for the company, the new spot is found in a 9000 sq. ft., two story building that houses around 150 games for patrons to enjoy. Their official website is here. Someone already nabbed a video from the new location so here you go:

Level One Bar + Arcade Opened In Columbus, OH September 2015 – Another one that I overlooked that opened last year although the disparity is as long as our first mentioned arcade is this one in Columbus, OH. Between video arcades and pinball, they have around 50 games available including 720, Asteroids, BattleZone, Blitz, Donkey Kong, Dragon Spirit, Elevator Action, Karate Champ, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, Mortal Kombat/Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Spy Hunter, Tapper, Tempest, Tron, X-Men and more; pinball has some recognizable names such as Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Medieval Madness, Star Trek TNG, Tales From the Crypt, Theatre of Magic, and a few others. You can check out there official website here.

FTW (For The Win) Denver Coming This Fall to Denver, CO – The Lucky Strike Bowling lanes found at the Denver Pavilions in Denver, CO are getting a neighborly upgrade when they open up a 13,000 sq. ft. arcade “gastropub” this fall. Details are light on what will be there for the moment but they do have a website setup to promote the location already. For a few more details, check out the PR.

UPDATE: VUK Opens In Bethesda, MD (Thanks to Dave for sending this our way): Here is one we missed from earlier this month so if you are in Bethesda, MD, go and check them out. VUK stands for ‘Vertical Up Kicker’, and as that implies, their main focus is on providing pinball. They also are a pizza restaurant but if you’re mainly looking for the games, you can expect to find: AC/DC, Game Of Thrones, Metallica, Star Trek Pro, The Lord of the Rings, and a few others for a total of 10, according to this story @ Bethesda Magazine. You can visit their Facebook page here.

Whew, that was quite the list! We’ll keep our eyes open for other locations but if you know of one, please let us know! Best of luck to these locations and if you are near them, go and check them out.

Level One Barcade is really good. On par with the industry standard in Columbus (16-bit)

Also there’s another one, which I haven’t been too yet, called Arcade Super Awesome (about a mile and a half from 16-bit). They have Killer Queen and a TON of pinball (including alot of newer tables). Family friendly until 9pm as well.
