Following the success of their online maps that track games like Pac-Man Battle Royale and Star Wars Battle Pod, Bandai Namco Amusements America has launched a site that tracks locations for their latest racing game release, Maximum Tune 5. For fans who have long awaited the arrival of a new Maximum Tune arcade machine to their area, this is the easiest way to find one. Tracking one down has happened to be a frequent request.

As more machines go online, Namco will be able to add more locations to it so this should become more populated in the coming weeks, depending on the locations that have grabbed one. So far it looks like California is the place for Maximum Tune fans to be although there are locations in WA, CO, AZ, TX, IL, HI, GA and PA that have a set; there are also two listed locations in Vancouver, Canada. I’ve been seeing some people asking for the North American version to land in other parts of the world – while that is something to ask a distributor, Namco has made it pretty clear that this is intended for use in North America only. That is something that they can region lock thanks to the online requirement built into the game.

2 major updates behind and on our own server segregated from the rest of the world. As a long time fan of the series I would have rather had no game than the crippled garbage BNAA is releasing here. It’s like being served a juicy burger–but you don’t get any toppings on it and certainly no fries. You really want the full thing and not a mere taste.
What with their poor handling of the MT series in the past and their abysmal handling of Mario Kart, this game’s release is yet another damaging blow to BNAA’s reputation.
What a shame. I’m glad the closest location is 6 hours away–all while California gets 15 of the limited sets.
Sadly the nearest one to me is 5 hrs away. 🙁

Nice! I had a meeting with Bandai Namco Europe last week. They confirmed no MT in Europe, sadly. Hope it goes well for you guys over there.
As an American, I’m so sad for European players that they didn’t get Maximum Tune 5 over there because Arcades are now dead in Europe 🙁
