When I generally think of museums, I don’t always think of them as being terribly exciting (albeit they can be fascinating) but when it comes to museums based upon games, they can be both fascinating and exciting. I know of a few game based museums around the world and sometimes they include items one would have found in an arcade or bar at one time, both in coin-op video games and pinball. There is a pinball museum in Las Vegas and now the UK is going to get one when The Pinball Parlour opens in Ramsgate on May 23rd. They will have over 30 machines available to play ranging from games made in the 50s all the way up to modern times. There will be some rare items at the location although the news article I’m linking to where this is coming from didn’t say what they have as far as rarities go. Either way if you live in the area be sure to check it out, they even have a small café there and host birthday parties.I hope it works out well for the owners, any venture like this carries with it some risk but in the end hopefully they can make some new fans for pinball once they get a taste for it.
