UPDATE: Sony has also announced another motion control scheme for the PS3 today, which combines a camera with handheld controllers, which brings the motion craze to all three consoles. So I could probably change the subject to “How might motion controls in the console industry influence or affect the arcade industry?”
In case you follow news [...]

Article: “When the arcades lost their fire”
February 14, 2009One great thing about arcades are the memories they create. I think that all of us has a story or two from times we spent at the arcade ‘back in the day’ and the article we’ll be linking to in that post discusses that very thing – how arcades used to be what the industry [...]

Go Go Golf from Sega – junk the Wiimote, play with a real club!
April 9, 2008I remember not too long ago when Bill Gates was asked about the motion-sensing controls of the Wii he mentioned that he saw the day when you could do something like pick up a real tennis racket and use that for your controller. April 3, 2008If you collect arcade games at all then you know that it can be rather difficult to find room for the cabinets at times. If you have a garage the hobby of collecting games can quickly pile up and after the garage is full, then it starts creeping into the house. If you live with [...]
Interviews with Michael Rudowicz of the AAMA and Frank Cosentino of Namco America
April 1, 2008While at ASI I had the opportunity to interview Mike Rudowicz, President of the AAMA and Frank Cosentino of Namco America. These audio clips are far from perfect – there is a lot of background noise but for the most part they are understandable. Mike’s interview is more understandable as there is far less background [...]
