If we hop on the way-back-machine and check out an post here on AH from May 2007 then you’ll find that a new Crazy Climber game had been announced for arcades in Japan. After that announcement however, we heard nothing else about the game, expect for a port to the Wii in 2008 which was mostly overlooked on the market.
It seems that last year IGS picked the arcade title up and just so happens to be distributing the game through whatever channels support them (strangely enough, except for one import company, I don’t really know who officially supports IGS – perhaps one of you could kindly fill me in on that). They kept the controls the same as what we saw in 2007, which are a pair of vertically set gears you spin to climb. As far as the game itself goes, I just so happened to find a video of the IGS version in action. IGS has an English teaser site about the game, where if you look closely you can see that there is an English version of the game, I don’t know if it’s a simple menu selection in the service menus or something else. I’d certainly appreciate that sort of feature on Oriental Legend 2.
Judging from the video it looks like fun. Combine that with the original controls and you have a game that stands out from others in the market right now.
