(Thanks to Matt for the tip)
UPDATE: The owner contacted me and gave some corrections. They actually opened three years ago under the name of Arcade Legends and moved to the new location in February of last year.
We like to keep track of new location openings as much as possible but sometimes they slip underneath our radar. In September of last year, a new retro arcade opened their doors in Cincinnati, OH by the name of Arcade Legacy. Apparently this was the second location for the business from what I can gather, with the current location getting started in September of last year.
For the facility they have 7800 sq. ft of space housing over 70 arcade titles and with access to “over 1,000 games for nearly all classic and current consoles” to play via 18 console stations. In regards to the arcade selection(full list here), they have some of the big classics : Donkey Kong, Ms. Pac-Man, TRON, Dig Dug, Arkanoid, etc. but they also have a substantial line-up of fighting games. Various Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and King of Fighters titles are represented among others, showing that any fan of the fighting genre should find something that they enjoy. Beyond that they have quite a few games from the 90s: Alien Vs. Predator, Battletoads, The Simpsons, DDR Extreme, Dragon Breed, NBA Jam T.E., Hydro Thunder, Crazy Taxi, Carnevil, Time Crisis and more. They also have a few pinball machines. They use a model of charging a door fee with games on free play and they seem to have been doing fine under that pattern so far.
You can visit their website here or if you are in the area, they are located inside the Cincinnati Mall. We wish them the best of luck in their business!
The mall is actually the third place the business has been located, but they keep moving because they keep expanding (and will probably grow again in the same location).
Wow! A great line-up, damn.. really wish it was closer.
Arcade Legacy is located on the lower level of the mall, near the food court. Now that’s old school!
The AL staff is friendly, the classic games are numerous, and you only have to walk a few yards to get an Orange Whip.
Update: the name of the mall has changed yet again. It’s now called Forest Fair Village.
See: http://www.forestfairvillage.com
It’s just off the I-275 beltway north of Cincinnati, a few exits west of Interstate 75.
