Hot on the heels of our recent post about new arcades are a few other locations that were almost overlooked. Thanks to you the readers for sending these in. As it works out, each one of these is a bar/arcade. Let’s start in California and move our way East…
Coin-Op SF Opening Soon in San Francisco, CA
(Thanks to Michael L. for the info and pics)
Very soonΒ a “full service restaurant, upscale craft cocktail bar” combined with an arcade operation will open it’s doors in San Francisco. This is the 4th “Coin-Op” branded location for the company and the new location will have “very similar feel to The Original Headquarters in Chicago Illinois”. There are 33 video games and 12 pinball machines including: Burgertime, Frogger,Galaga, Ms. Pac-Man, Q*Bert and more for video; Family Guy, Ghostbusters LE, The Lord of the Rings, Revenge From Mars, The Simpsons, Star Trek (Stern), The Walking Dead and more for pinball. You can check out their Facebook page here.
Akihabara Arcade & Bar Now Open In Westminster, CO
(Thanks to CD ageS for the tip)
Heading over to Colorado, North of Denver, is a bar/arcade concept that opened on the 10th. While most bar/arcades follow a very similar pattern as far as game selection goes (retro video, new pinball), this one is mixing the bar side with a Japanese centric game selection. That is expected with “Akihabara in the name of course π Their game selection currently features 23 games and includes: Arcana Heart 3, Daimakaimura (Ghouls’n Ghosts), Marvel Vs. Capcom, Mushihemesama Futari Black label, Pink Sweets, Super Puzzle Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, TMNT: Turtles In Time and many more; the owner also has many games as PCBs that he can use to rotate games out. From the grand opening pictures, the place has already attracted a lot of attention; check out their Facebook page here.
Two Plumbers Brewery + Arcade Set To Open Early 2017 in St. Charles, MO
(Thanks to TJ Beyer for the tip)
Here’s one that’s a little bit ahead of the opening but in case you like to be prepared, it doesn’t hurt. Two Plumbers will have classic arcade games and some pinball to enjoy along with a strong focus on their brewery. It is still a little early for a complete games list but I see from browsing their Facebook page that you can expect to find titles like Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom and Lethal Enforcers among others. π Their official website is found here but you’ll probably be able to track them best via Facebook or Twitter.
As always we wish the best of luck to each of these businesses as they spread arcade goodness to the masses but if you find yourself in the area for anyone of these locations, be sure to stop by and drop some coin!
