Well, August has certainly been a bit dry as far as arcade news goes. I’ve been too busy to write up some more general interest articles so apologies for the lack of posts over the past week or two. But perhaps this one marks a break in that lull.
Sales Trailer For Golden Tee 2018
Back when I sold arcade machines for part of my living, I received a lot of inquiries about Golden Tee. Part of the problem though was that it wasn’t always very clear what the differences were between annual editions. Thus, answering the question: “What’s the difference between 201x edition and 201y edition?” would boil down to fumbling expected additions of five new courses and maybe a new mode. Besides that, it’s new and new is always better right?
I think that manufacturers really need to step up their game when it comes to training their distributors on the product and at least when it comes to Golden Tee 2018, Incredible Technologies seems to be doing just that. They’ve have multiple trailers to focus on additions and improvements to the game, now distilled into this trailer for every one to watch:
To sum it up, you’ve got new courses, two “re-imagined” courses from Golden Tee Fore, new costume options, a new way to roll the ball, new putters, new ball effects, new game modes, golfer animations and there will be time released content through the year to help keep players interested in the game. While the idea of timed release content isn’t new in the business, it is infrequently used. I find it a welcome way to keep players coming back.
What are your thoughts on the next installment of Golden Tee?
