Namco Station in Manchester, UK undergoing major remodel, “21st century” version reopens July

If you are familiar with the Namco Station in Manchester, UK then you probably know already that the place closed down in May for a refurb. As we have just found out thanks to a tip from Kieran May, it’s not just any remodel as Namco is spending a cool £2 million to “to transform the venue into a 21st Century arcade”. It will be rebranded as a Namco FunScape so that it fits into other Namco locations around the country. The bar area will be enlarged and improved, the bowling lanes fully refurbished and six lanes added and the video game area expanded with more games offered. We will have to wait until July to see the full improvements when the location re-opens but something like this is just as significant as a new location opening. Here’s wishing them the best of luck in the future!
