Previously on Arcade Heroes, we mentioned the arrival of a new company to the industry fray by the name of Blue Motion Games. Spearheaded by industry veteran Salim Sabbagha, the company was at IAAPA 2024 with a motion simulator, but the two games we’ll be detailing below were not there. Now, they are shipping and reaching locations out there. Let’s see what they are all about.
Desert Chase
The first game we will focus on is a multiplayer light-gun game with a “Mad Max” theme to it. Desert Chase is a big game that features four 3DOF motion seats, each seat also sporting rear channel speakers, vibration effects, a wind blower in front of the player, and access to a force feedback tethered light-gun (similar to Trio-Tech’s Super Blaster, but focused on one game & theme).
The game itself has two levels, each offering 3-minutes of gameplay, where players will “navigate through the city [or desert, depending on the level] in a rugged vehicle, pursuing and eliminating hordes of zombies and mutant creatures.”
As a side note, I keep wanting to write “Desert Strike” when I mention this game, but that’s a game from the ’90s…
Cannonball Jam
The second game is more on the videmption side of things, although it can operate as a non-redemption amusement game. Also sporting four player stations, Cannonball Jam can be thought of as a game in the class of titles like Ice Man, but instead of shooting jets of water at the screen, you’re firing soft balls.
On Both Games
Both games come with 100″ screens and multi-channel sound, but the sound is better focused on Desert Chase thanks to the motion seats with integrated speakers. Here’s a video of both games and their teasers, combining what they had posted to their website into one video:
I am unsure about leaderboards or online features on these, but once I find out, I’ll update this post.
For operators curious to see these in person, Blue Motion Games will be showing off both titles at Amusement Expo International 2025 in Las Vegas, NV next month (booth #1949). I’ll grab footage of both games there. Also, distributor PrimeTime Amusements already has the games listed.
What are your thoughts on these?
