Rambo unveiled at event in Japan

I had seen this a few days ago but had passed over it and even though we have the first footage of Rambo in action, it’s worth a mention anyways. At the official unveiling of Rambo in Japan, Sega brought on actor Hiroshi Fujioka, who in addition to appearing in many Japanese films since 1966, used to be the Sega Saturn spokesperson. He also has done voice-overs for several video games in recent years, including Shenmue and Kingdom of Hearts 2. I’m not sure how long he’s had that mullet but it to me it looks to blend in well here. He also appeared with a young woman who I am not sure about – the translator just puts the caption “Yu’s only tree MAO” and I won’t guess as to what it’s trying to say.
One thing that this press release apparently confirms is that the game will have scenes and gameplay taking place from the latest Rambo film, which is something many have wondered about. We’ll probably have to wait until September to see much more from the game, when it is released at least in Japan but kudos to Sega here for releasing so much information on a new arcade game well ahead of it’s release.

Segata Sanshiro with a mullet. It’s nice to see that after our criticism of Sega’s coin-op publicity they’ve broken out the big guns.

I have full confidence that Segata Sanshiro can effectively market anything. The world needs more of him!
