UNIS Updates: Godzilla Kaiju Drop; Picture Land; Top Speed Legend

As we continue to wait for updates on several other stories, UNIS has blessed us with some news on a few of their current and upcoming releases. One of them, GODZILLA Kaiju Drop, you might have played at a Round1USA location, while the others might be new to you. Let’s take a look.

Godzilla Kaiju Drop

This first one is a redemption game, which doesn’t soak up a lot of our attention here (in part because redemption doesn’t need the signal boost in any way – especially coin pushers, which just make gobs of money), but given that we have Godzilla for video games, pinball, and even as a whacker, we might as well include news about this – as the game is now available. This has been testing at various Round1USA locations and by all accounts that have been publicly shared out there, it’s been a strong earner. The game appears to be exclusive to them out West for now, so this trailer is likely for the Chinese side of things.

The above trailer doesn’t show gameplay, being almost all focused on the very impressive Godzilla statue that dominates the center of the game, though you can likely expect the usual big pusher gameplay with jackpots galore. It is not listed on UNIS’ site at this time, but perhaps that will change soon. It’s also worth noting that we first heard about this game through Taito, so they clearly have some level of involvement here, but it isn’t clear how much at the moment (they have of course worked with UNIS in the recent past on titles like OnPoint/Gunarena and Space Invaders Counter Attack).

Picture Book Land Gets An Update

This one still does not appear to be destined for the West in any capacity, let alone exclusive to one chain, so I’m not 100% sure why they are promoting it outside of China – although on occasion, you can get releases of arcade games that are done in a limited sense for specific clients. Maybe that’s why they are doing it, or maybe they’re just focused on promoting their portfolio. Either way, their beat’em up card dispensing game Picture Land has received an update that adds new content and a Boss Rush mode.

I’ll have to ask about this at IAAPA 2025 – or if it’s just there, that will answer the question for me.

Top Speed Legend

Last but not least is a new reveal, not through their YouTube, but on our Discord where a new user Maximus posted this brief video. Set to be fully unveiled at GTI 2025 here soon, this is a racer that appears to take a page from Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade in terms of its style of play. That isn’t surprising given that A9LA is one of the best selling games on the market in the past five years, but once GTI hits, it’s going to be a very crowded field for racers – even among UNIS’ own selection of what they currently have available, plus this, and some others that are coming.

We’ll keep an eye on all of this as it develops, but you’ll definitely want to stay tuned for our coverage of the upcoming GTI China 2025 show (Sept. 10th-12th). This will feature several new arcade games, not just UNIS, some of which will be making their way West.
