I apologize for the lack of updates the past couple of days, my internet access is being strained by the necessity of other duties in life but I will be giving updates as often as I possibly can while this tumultuous phase in my life goes on. At the very least a lot of progress is being made at my new arcade location. One of the hardest things about putting an arcade together is that you want to stop and just play the games all the time but you need to pull yourself back and focus.
But onto other things related to arcades, this time some more stuff on everyone’s favorite arcade game, Street Fighter IV. The game’s producer Yoshinori Ono has been interviewed many times about the game but sometimes those are about the console version whereas the interview we are linking to below focuses primarily on the arcade version of the game. He does briefly mention that they are working on some new arcade titles although he does not say what those are (everyone keeps hoping for Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 of course) and for some reason does not mention the Taito Type-X2 board by name when talking about the hardware but otherwise if you can’t get enough of SFIV info, here you go. He does take another shot at arcades in the US as on the decline (I wonder what his evidence is though since he keeps spouting this over and over again and if it’s based on hard fact or pure anecdotes – and we saw recently from the Play Meter Report that there are more arcades in the US now than the year prior but I digress) but does open the door for SFIv action in Micronesia and Australia.
