When it comes to gigantic theme parks, the United Arab Emirates is working hard solidify it’s image as the theme park capital of the world. Another theme park that will soon be joining the fray is Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, which is located southwest of Dubai. The theme park itself is actually located on Yas Island which sits about 30 minutes outside of Abu Dhabi, but they are sticking that city into the name as it will probably help recognition. Ferrari World is the latest theme park to lay claim to the world’s largest indoor theme park and the facility sits “under a roof designed in the style of a classic double-curve body shell of a Ferrari GT.” The park will have over 20 rides and attractions, including the worlds fastest roller coaster; Italian dining, shopping, hotel space, recreations of Italian landmarks, a large kids play area and more. The website also promises: “Those who have ever dreamed of life in the pit lane of a Grand Prix or the adrenaline rush of travelling at speeds over 200 km/h, will find themselves surrounded by opportunities to indulge their fantasies with unique attractions tailored to every aspect of driving, racing and even building a Ferrari.” If you watch the video on the official site, you can see some of those aspects in action.
While no coin-op arcade games are shown in the promo video, I would be very surprised if they didn’t have an arcade there with Ferrari F355 Challenge on hand along with a number of other racing games seeing how this place will be a racing fans paradise.
I think I found where I headed for my next vacation!
