Trevor Floren has competed in past Big Buck Hunter championships, but this is his first victory at the World Championships. With his family watching and sporting “Team Trevor” gear, Floren won his first-ever World Championship.
Alex Derhohannesian of New York City took home his first-ever World Championship in the Big Buck Safari competition. The East Region champion knocked out Chris Fream of Minneapolis in a hard-fought battle. City Slicker Derhohannesian trains in New York at Black Bear Lodge and 7B, and this is his second time participating in the World Championships after finishing fifth in 2009.
The two-day event, consisting of the Regional Finals and the World Championships, attracted hundreds of people and included free Big Buck Hunter games, live band karaoke, raffle prizes and more.
