For our first Stinger newsfeed of the year, they pointed us to a story about the development of a new Namco Bandai indoor theme park that is set to open its doors in Ikebukuro Japan this summer. At this point there isn’t a lot of data about the project other than the theme will have a focus on characters from a Manga called Shonen Jump and a few other popular Japanese properties such as Naruto and Dragon Ball. Namco has created arcade games based on Dragon Ball Z so I’m sure that those and any updated software in that regard will find a home there. There already is a Namco owned theme park there called Namjatown but that is closing this month and will be relocated within the same building to make room for the new setup.

Speaking of Japan, the official website for the Japan Amusement Expo is now live, which is the evolution of the famous AOU trade show. This will be taking place next month where we will be getting some info on the latest games to come around from Japan, with a few that just might find their way out West. The website is barebones for the moment but I imagine that will be changing over the next few weeks or so.
can some translate what the “We Love xxx” phrase is on the JAE website?
I thought it was “arcade” but my Japanese is extremely rusty

This should be corrected to “At this point there isn’t a lot of data about the project other than the theme will have a focus on characters from a Manga magazine called Shonen Jump which has a few other popular Japanese properties such as Naruto and Dragon Ball.”
Shonen Jump isn’t a manga itself. It’s a weekly shōnen manga anthology published in Japan by Shueisha under the Jump line of magazines.
This entry is very interesting!! I am very glad that arcadeheroes exist! ^_^
