(Thanks to Jdevy for the tip)
While the site has been quiet this week, I have been super busy thanks to setting up arcade games for the Salt Lake Comic Con and suffering from some exhaustion related “Comic Crud” thanks to that (before the event has even started 😛 ). Thanks to an eagle eyed reader, here’s something quick to pass along.
Caught on the Coastal Amusements Facebook page, while promoting their brand new redemption hit Black Hole with Chuck from Chuck E Cheeses, you can see to the left of the photo, a new racing arcade game. I am not 100% sure where the photo was taken – it looks a lot like the venue where the AAMA Gala was held last month although I had the impression that we received all of the pictures of what was shown there. So it could be some other event, held by a distributor in a hotel. This was taken at the Chuck E. Cheeses Conference in Texas last week. Either way, let the guessing begin!

With that, what do you think it is? The tipster is guessing that the text says Crusin’ on it and the writing is certainly close although it is hard to tell if it is exact. To compare:
That cabinet certainly looks like a Raw Thrills design, given the shape and the lighting. Of course it could be something else – there is always a racing game in development somewhere in the modern arcade industry but if it happens to be a new entry in the Cruisin’ series, that would be interesting. What do you think?
looks like Cruis’n
I am sure this is Crusin as I see this on a Raw Thrills cabinet and Raw Thrills in my opinion seems to be the perfect game company to make a sequel to a game series like this.
After finding this hidden gem on Coastal’s Facebook page, for some reason I now feel that this could be Specular’s game, made with a little help from Raw Thrills.
Cruis’n, my guilty pleasure!
So long I’m waiting to play modern following of this icon of western 90’s arcade… We don’t really have the coin up arcade culture in France, so I played the Midway era on N64 and Dreamcast, good time on Cruis’n, Rush and Hydro Thunder.
In the comment below Specular is mentioned… they are great developer, it would exciting to see what they would do with Cruis’n.
Guess we’ll know if it’s a new game by November at the earliest maybe. Never played cruising USA so I’ll be curious to try it if it is in fact a sequal.
